Why it is great to have a woman in your crypto team
As crypto adoption grows more female leaders are entering the industry bringing transparency and diversity to communications between tech teams
Women trade crypto more often than traditional stocks. According to the survey of NORC at the University of Chicago over 41% of investors in crypto were women. But so far the crypto industry is male-dominated as female entrepreneurs present only 5% among all founders. However, a recent survey shows that 15% of women would like to develop their careers in crypto.
With crypto adoption, we expect the number of women entering the industry to increase, taking a significant share of C-suite positions.
At Finery Markets we strive to develop female leadership and reach diversity in our Product Team as we believe that diversity boosts innovations and improves internal communications.
Following global initiatives of international organizations including UNESCO before the celebration of International Women’s Day, Finery Markets would like to tell you about an outstanding woman in our team and the values that this female leader brings to the business.
Anastasia Karpinska joined Finery Markets in 2020 as a Team-Lead. She manages a Tech Team of developers implementing the best practices from her 13 years of experience in designing and building high-performance software solutions from ideation to market.
Ilia Drozdov, Chief Product Officer, Finery Markets
“Anastasia is a very strong tech developer, supervising a 100% male tech team is not an easy task however she achieves this. This enables Finery Markets to have a balanced and thorough approach to product development”.
The integration of female leaders brings huge value to a product. Lisa-Christina Winter Done works with crypto Product teams as a cognitive specialist. She founded Cryptopolitan, a Swiss Community that unites more than 700 women in the crypto industry.
Lisa-Christina Winter Done, Cryptopolitan:
“Having women in tech teams is absolutely necessary as the female point of view will reflect in the product. Today the percentage of women in crypto is disproportionately small and female needs should be taken into account as almost every woman has a bank account and uses internet banking. I expect the situation will change for crypto”.
Along with product value, having women in the team also improves internal communications making them open, diverse, and transparent.
Denise Nickerson, Co-Founder, Salt Consulting & Communications Ltd:
“Tech teams need to communicate outside themselves with a variety of stakeholders. Diversity increases a whole team’s ability to gather information, serve others, and improve internal communications. Making the implicit explicit helps people to get curious and ask questions, find clarity, challenge the status quo, and simplify processes too. Creating psychological safety for women and other minorities in any profession benefits the whole team too”.
Happy International Women Day to all outstanding women in #cryptoworld!
